Cleveland Indians cheer on Team USA during Women’s World Cup

On Sunday in France, the U.S. women's national team won its fourth soccer World Cup, beating the Netherlands 2-0. They'll face the Netherlands in Lyon tomorrow. Briana Scurry is someone who understands what that feels like.

"Congratulations to the U.S. Women's Soccer Team on winning the World Cup!". I'm pretty open and honest with you.

Speaking to the BBC after the win, Golden Boot victor Rapinoe couldn't hide her emotion. Are you scheduling three finals on the same day?

SCURRY: It's exhilarating, to be honest with you. USA forward Megan Rapinoe is expected to play for the US after missing the semifinals, making that task even more challenging.

MONTAGNE: Well, what are your thoughts on this current team?

"While the men's professional game has been reluctant to be fully inclusive and supportive of anyone within the game who identifies as LGBT, it's generally regarded that football is much more accepting of women who are lesbian or bisexual", Lindsay England, founder of Just A Ball Game, a campaign organisation that works to stamp out homophobia in football, told Outsports last week. But most of all on them. It's been a lot of adversity off the pitch, which it seems to me to have only fueled their fire on the pitch.

Christen Press, who replaced Rapinoe and scored the first goal against England, reverts back to the bench as one of two changes in the United States of America team, with Sam Mewis also coming in for Lindsey Horan.

The USWNT World Cup finals start time arrives on Sunday morning, surprisingly. I don't think you get to the point of having an incredible business by running it on a budget that is one dollar more than it was previous year. With so many ways to pick this title matchup, be sure to see the 2019 Women's World Cup predictions from European football expert David Sumpter before locking in any U.S. vs. Netherlands picks of your own.

It's not the only final in worldwide football today with the Copa America and Gold Cup also being decided.

USA's Megan Rapinoe became the first player to score a penalty in a Women's World Cup final, as well as being the oldest scorer in a final (34 years and 2 days). What is your take on that?

"I don't support this administration nor their fight against LGBTQ+ citizens, immigrants & our most vulnerable", she added. There are two other finals going on but this is the World Cup final, "cancel everything day". There's nothing else happening.

The US were rarely troubled in the final minutes of the game, a regular trend in this World Cup tournament. And it's nearly a little bit of a slap in the face.

"What other event, other than the men's World Cup, can unite one billion people around the world to come together like this?" What will you be watching for during the game? It is incredible to be playing in a team that gives you self-confidence. On the back of this performance, she will not be without a club for long - a small crumb of comfort after the disappointment of losing a World Cup final. She was the US catalyst, the hero when it mattered most. "But what I love about this group is they're locked in and they're still hungry", U.S. Coach Jill Ellis said.

"I mean, we're making a [men's] World Cup in Qatar happen [in 2023]".

The United States Women's National Team will be back in FIFA World Cup action for a huge game on Sunday (July 7).
