DeMarcus Cousins is National Basketball Association free agency's forgotten man

Warriors Kevon Looney NBA Finals

Many teams are passing on Cousins because of his injury history, but that is apparently not what concerns the Celtics.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski there simply is no market for Cousins right now.

"There is not a market for [DeMarcus Cousins]".

DeMarcus Cousins history of untimely injuries has cost him a fortune during his National Basketball Association career, and while he had hoped taking a discount in Golden State would lead to lucrative offers this summer, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the former MVP candidate may have to settle for the smallest contract of his career. "That's not happening", Wojnarowski said on "SportsCenter" Tuesday morning. "I don't think that's there". The best possible scenario for Cousins to receive a competitive offer would be from either the Lakers or Clippers - whichever team doesn't land Kawhi Leonard. The center returned to the court in January, but then suffered a quad injury in Golden State's second playoff game.

Looney re-signed with the Warriors for a three-year, $15 million deal on Monday night, likely ending any chance Cousins would return to the Bay Area. Cousins, who was coming off of a torn Achilles, worked himself into a rotation that already boasted four all-stars.

Looney, 23, appeared in 80 regular-season games and made 24 starts for the Warriors last season, averaging 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds. He was healthy enough to come back for the NBA Finals, but was used sparingly as Golden State lost to the Raptors in six games.
