Lillard is the face of the franchise and seems fully committed to staying in Portland so he can make it a contender.

Trail Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey will meet with Lillard and his representatives in his hometown of Oakland, Calif., on Sunday to finalize the contract, sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. Lillard has two years and roughly $61 million left on his current deal.

According to a report from The Athletic's Shams Charania, Damian Lillard and the Blazers are nearing an agreement on a four-year supermax extension worth $196 million.

If this new deal is confirmed, it would mean Lillard would be a Blazer through at least the 2024-25 season.

Lillard has been a pillar for the Trail Blazers in his seven-year National Basketball Association tenure.

His 12,909 career points rank second in Blazers franchise history, trailing only Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler (18,040). He has been very durable thus far, playing 80 games or more in a season four times and playing no fewer than 73 in any of his first seven seasons in the league.

Lillard averaged 25.8 points, 6.9 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.1 steals last season while shooting 36.9 percent from 3-point range. Pretty good company to be in - and now Lillard is getting paid like them. The four-time All-Star is also a four-time All-NBA performer.
