Royal debut: Baby Prince Louis steals the show with adorable wave

The most popular member of the royal family is the Queen, with 72 percent of public positive opinion, with Prince Harry at 71 percent, and Prince Wiliam at 69 percent. Prince Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were all in attendance.

A body language expert Judi James told the Express that Prince Harry wore "the blank but slightly wary expression he's been seen doing a lot of recently". The parade concludes with a 41-gun salute fired by The King's Troop, following which The Queen leads members of The Royal Family back to the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the Royal Air Force flypast display.

Trooping the Colour originated from traditional preparations for battle and has commemorated the birthday of the sovereign for more than 250 years.

However, the Duchess was missing from the Buckingham Palace balcony when the Queen returned from the parade.

Prince Louis was seen peering at the crowds that had gathered outside the royal residence with his brother and sister, before making his public debut. Which is totally fair considering he's only a year old.

Theresa May, who formally stepped down as prime minister on Friday but will continue to work until her successor has been appointed, also attended the event.

Prince George was seen sporting an identical blue outfit to his father for his first Trooping The Colour in 2013, kickstarting the tradition.

Meghan Markle gave birth to her son Archie a month ago.

"Could it be a gift or a ring to symbolise the birth of Archie?" asked one Twitter user.

She was not among royals who met US President Donald Trump during his state visit to Britain earlier in the week.

Alongside her plain gold wedding band and three-stone engagement ring - which includes a nod to Princess Diana with two diamonds from her collection - Meghan was wearing another gold ring.

Markle rode in a carriage alongside Harry, his stepmother, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor didn't attend the event today.
