The 25-year-old has been ruled out of the final two Premier League games of this campaign against Huddersfield and Cardiff.

In the remainder of this season, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now facing something of an injury crisis in central defence after neither Chris Smalling nor Phil Jones were deemed fit enough to even make the bench against Chelsea. The tournament is due to start on June 21 and concludes on July 19.

That was Bailly's first league start since February 3, but now he is ruled out of United's remaining matches against Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City.

In a further blow to Bailly, the injury means that he won't be available for the Ivory Coast in this summer's Africa Cup of Nations.
