The UK is set to see the sunshine continue today after parts of the country enjoyed their warmest Easter Sunday on record.

Ms Yeomans said with highs of 25C expected on Friday it was more likely the country will have record temperatures on the Sunday and Monday.

The highest temperature in Wales was 23.7C at Usk in Monmouthshire, less than 1C short of the record 24.4C enjoyed on Easter Saturday in 2011.

It is officially the hottest Easter Monday ever recorded in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland (the whole of the United Kingdom, UK), the Met Office has announced.
