Ocasio-Cortez says she's cutting back on social media for her health

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez D-N.Y. listens during a House Financial Services Committee hearing with leaders of major banks Wednesday

Ocasio-Cortez is coming under fire from Republicans for asking via Twitter why Crenshaw, a veteran of the Afghanistan war, doesn't "do something" about domestic terrorists. She still has accounts on the site, she said, and according to the company's ad library, her Facebook account has dozens of active advertisements sponsored by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Congress.

While inventing an image of AOC as a radical socialist who seeks to destroy America and the values of that nation's Constitution, Fox and Murdoch are "fighting against dignified healthcare, wages, & justice for all; and turning their firepower on the youngest Congresswoman in history to do it", tweeted the lawmaker on Friday, cited by The Guardian.

Ocasio-Cortez, who was an organizer for Bernie Sanders' 2016 campaign, said she was still supportive of the Vermont senator's run, but that other candidates have also caught her attention.

The skirmish began after Crenshaw tweeted his reaction to a speech made by Omar during a Muslim rights group's event, in which she described the September 11 terror attacks as "some people who did something". "Why don't you go do something about that?"

Ocasio-Cortez's claim that Crenshaw refuses to support the bill is also a lie.

"This puts me in danger every time", Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

It is not known whether Ms Ocasio-Cortez, who has been dubbed the Beyonce of politics, has accepted the organisers' invitation, reported by The Sunday Times.

Ocasio-Cortez's office pointed McClatchy to a New York Daily News interview with a retired New York firefighter who survived 9/11 and told the newspaper that Crenshaw had snubbed him as he lobbied for renewing the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.

In 2016, the Republican-controlled House and Senate passed a bill that allowed the victims of 9/11 to sue the Saudi Arabian government over the terrorist attacks.

Klaidman asked Ocasio-Cortez to explain what she thinks about when considering the possibility of running for another position.

The 29-year-old, who is now too young to be eligible for the presidential office, remained demure when asked if she would one day make a run.

Ocasio-Cortez said USA policy toward Israel should be affected by the proposed annexation, and there are "conversations happening in our caucus".
