Maurizio Sarri Insists He Wants Misfiring Veteran Striker at Chelsea Next Season

Sarri wants Chelsea to buy Higuain but admits striker ‘needs to improve’

That's according to Higuain's manager Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea's Italian boss called on his squad to ignore their rivals' results and chase as many wins as possible, starting against West Ham on Monday night.

The deal is complicated by the fact that Chelsea were recently hit by a transfer ban, with an appeal pending.

"I think they are a really very unsafe team", said Sarri. So I'm not anxious about the market.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Chelsea FC's website, Hazard said: "I like that because people are not talking about Chelsea for the top four so we are quiet".

Chelsea picked up a controversial win against Cardiff last weekend but in midweek they returned back with a strong reply vs Brighton.

Sarri insists he wants to keep Higuain next season but wants him to improve physically for the Premier League.

"Because, in the season, they were not able to have consistency, but they are a team with high quality".

"We have only to fight and to think about our matches".

"Usually we go on the pitch with the same target: at home and away".

"We play every three days so we need both".

Higuain has struggled since arriving at Stamford Bridge in January, scoring just three goals in 11 appearances, all of which came against already relegated Huddersfield and Fulham.

When asked if he wants Higuain to remain at Chelsea, Sarri said (via The Telegraph): "Yes of course, but it depends on the club, it depends on Juventus".

"We are Chelsea and it is a big derby, I don't like that to be fair but we have to accept it and also for the Premier League it is good".

Asked if Chelsea must win all their remaining matches to make the top four, Sarri replied: "No, because I think the last part of the season will be really very hard for every team".
