Lakers interested in Mavs’ Rick Carlisle to replace Luke Walton, per report

Jason Kidd mentioned as 'serious candidate' for Lakers coaching job

Luke Walton believes he'll be back in Los Angeles next season. And in this case of one report from a reliable reporter left me asking this question: just who exactly do the Los Angeles Lakers think they are? Some Lakers players expressed concern over LeBron's body language during the discussion, and James acknowledged that is an area he needs to improve upon.

"I just view it as outside noise unless someone from within tells me that that happened", Walton continued.

Meanwhile, ESPN suggested former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd, was also in the frame to replace Walton. The Lakers were reportedly hoping to open a roster spot for someone who could help with their playoff push, but that second shoe never dropped. So, it's nice to be wanted. But his coaching philosophies in Milwaukee and with the Brooklyn Nets before have brought doubt over the promise of this potential hire.

With that said, there have been whispers that Walton could be fired after the season and a couple names of his possible replacements have emerged recently.

LeBron James is done for the season. He believes that no player or coach will ever turn down an opportunity to be a part of the second most successful franchise in the National Basketball Association.

If James gets down to South Florida, the Big 3 could find themselves reunited where they won two championships in four years together.

However, the thought process was teams like the Houston Rockets showed they could not outshoot the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors. Those are things that I don't have the time to worry about. He wants to win now. "As a coach, X and Os, you've got to be on point".

Kidd's last coaching stint was with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he served as head coach from 2014 until he was sacked midway through the 2017-18 season.
