Google is launching a game-streaming service, Stadia

Google’s New Controller Might Literally Stream Games To Your TV

Players will be able to use the controller to play games anywhere using the Stadia cloud service, games such as Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

Stadia is all about making games more accessible. Stadia will help developers surface titles in Google search, the Play Store, and other locations.

'.We want sharing games to be as easy as sharing a link and clicking on it'. Google says it can take as little as five seconds to get playing.

Of course, Stadia isn't just for Chromebooks: It will work on any screen via the Chrome browser or a Chromecast. A lot of Stadia's success is going to rely upon stable, fast internet connections, and that's something that a lot of people still don't have access to. While Chrome is available on iOS, it uses Apple's standard web engine because of App Store restrictions.

All device types: A single code base works seamlessly on all kinds of connected devices, including TVs, laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphones. Google's huge server infrastructure will mitigate that, the company says, allowing for smooth gaming at the standard that players expect from a console, in 4k resolution and at 60 frames a second.

The Stadia controller, which is optional, connects to Google's streaming data centres directly over WiFi, for limiting latency.

Along with its new platform, Google announced its own controller, named the Stadia Controller.

This will be possible, in part, thanks to Google's vast network of global data centers. Each of the Stadia instances come with a GPU with 56 compute units and HBM2 memory, a custom x86 hyperthreaded processor running at a clock speed of 2.7GHz, and 16GB of RAM. As such, Stadia will be capable of offering more raw power than both Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

Gamers who stream their play through YouTube can allow anyone to join in the session, for example. The service will stream games in 4K at 60 frames per second in HDR with surround sound over a 25 Mbps internet connection. They're set to support 8K resolution and 120+ FPS in the future. However, Stadia could make split-screen game experiences workable again. You can pick up from where the game left off in real time, Polygon reports. It also aims to eradicate problems with multiplayer, resulting in reliable connectivity. Streamers can also play with their fans with a feature called Crowd Play, which I have no doubt will be monetized heavily. There's also Stadia Partners for anyone interested in partnerships. However, Google is taking things a step further with Stadia Games and Entertainment, a game studio that will produce titles exclusively for Stadia.

Game publishers also may decide to launch their own streaming services, as film and TV studios have begun doing for their content in the last few years.

Google recently scaled down its hardware department that is responsible for the Pixelbooks and slates and dispersed the staff among more pressing projects, one of which could be the cloudy gaming division.

Google just revealed its vision for the future of gaming, and it's called Google Stadia.

Google promises an even better experience in Stadia. Let us know in the comments! Now, credit where it's due: This is a good starting lineup, and Google has plenty of time to wow us with a more robust lineup this summer, when it promised to share more information about Stadia.
