Michael Cohen to Return to Capitol Hill for Testimony on March 6

Michael Cohen’s Congressional Testimony Show His Irrepressibly Lying Ways

During an interview broadcast on Thursday's edition of the Fox News Channel's "Hannity", President Trump said his former attorney Michael Cohen "lied about so many things", and "might as well lie about" Russian collusion as well, "but he said no collusion".

Testimony on Wednesday from Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's prison-bound ex-friend and fixer, served up plenty of major revelations about the real estate heir's rise to the presidency.

During Cohen's testimony, for example, he was asked about reporting by the "Trump, Inc." podcast that the Trump International Hotel in Washington overcharged the Trump inaugural committee.

Adam Schiff, California Democrat, called Thursday's interview with Cohen, "very productive", saying it "shed light" on the Russian Federation probe, but offered up scant details.

Trump's former business associate Felix Sater, who played a key role in Trump's efforts to pursue construction of a Trump Tower in Moscow, is scheduled to appear before the Intelligence Committee in a public hearing scheduled for March 14, Chairman Adam Schiff, D-California, said Thursday.

In a tweet, President Trump said Cohen's manuscript was a "love letter" to him and said Congress should demand the manuscript as evidence Cohen's testimony this week was "fraudulent" and "dishonest". Representatives for Trump did not respond to the allegations at the time.

Based on who was mentioned in the hearing, possible witnesses could include Weisselberg and two of the president's children, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump. Trump said he was a "little impressed" that Cohen had said that to the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

Republicans seeking to discredit Cohen also seized Friday on a video clip that has recently resurfaced from a November 2016 appearance by Cohen on CNN.

Cohen has already pleaded guilty to lying to Congress. In an interview with from February 9, Ivanka Trump said that she knew "literally nearly nothing" about the pursuit of a building in Moscow.

Two of Trump's most vocal defenders, GOP Reps. "And I said, it's amusing, he lied about so many things, and yet he could have said - he might as well lie about that one too, but he said no collusion".

Weisselberg received limited immunity past year related to his grand jury testimony he gave in the Cohen case about the hush money allegations.

Asked if there's a chance Trump would ask him to take a job on either "the political side" or the "governmental side", Cohen says, "I certainly hope so".

Cohen spent three days on Capitol Hill this week in a dramatic series of public and private hearings in which he apologized for previously lying to lawmakers and divulged what he said Trump knew about financial infractions and Russia's interference in the 2016 election. He said the president arranged to reimburse Cohen, and Cohen brought to the hearing a check that he said was proof of the transaction.

Jordan and Meadows called Cohen's testimony "a spectacular and brazen attempt to knowing [sic] and willfully testify falsely and fictitiously to numerous material facts", alleging that the false statements were "designed to make himself look better on a national stage".

The manuscript was entitled Trump Revolution: From The Tower To The White House, Understanding Donald J. Trump - and according to the Daily Beast, it was aimed at offsetting books deeply critical of the president.

"My loyalty to Mr. Trump has cost me everything: my family's happiness, friendships, my law license, my company, my livelihood, my honour, my reputation and soon my freedom", Cohen said. "'I don't know why you're fucking with Mr. Trump but if you keep fucking with Mr. Trump, we know where you live and we're going to your house for your wife and kids'".
