Godfather II Scene Plays Cameo Role in Roger Stone Indictment

Former campaign adviser for President Donald Trump Roger Stone walks out of the federal courthouse following a hearing Friday Jan. 25 2019 in Fort Lauderdale Fla. He was arrested Friday in the special counsel’s Russia investigation and was charge

The associate and the high-ranking campaign official are not named in the complaint, though the indictment describes how Stone told a reporter that what Assange had in the unreleased emails was good for the Trump campaign.

Stone, possibly sensing a vulnerable point in the man who he claimed was the "real" conduit to Wikileaks, threatened to disappear Bianca in an alleged bid to intimidate Credico away from testifying.

"There is no circumstance, whatsoever, under which I will bear false witness against the president", Stone said, adding, "I will not testify against the president".

Stone was charged with one count of obstruction of an official proceeding, five counts of making false statements and one count of witness tampering, according to the indictment.

Stone has publicly condemned the Mueller investigation and echoed the president's descriptions of it as a witch hunt, but he has long attracted investigators' attention, especially in light of a 2016 tweet that appeared to presage knowledge that emails stolen from Mr Podesta would soon be released. When Trump considered running ahead of the 2012 and 2016 elections, Stone was one of the first consultants he turned to.

The moment that the Federal Bureau of Investigation converged on Stone's Ft. He has a tattoo of Nixon's face on his back.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump's press secretary, said the charges brought against Stone "don't have anything to do with the president".

On "America's Newsroom" Friday, Dershowitz, a Harvard Law professor emeritus, said the indictment is full of "stories" of Russian collusion, but all the actual charges are a result of the investigation.

He appeared briefly in federal court in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, wearing blue jeans and a blue polo. He also said Stone did not receive documents from WikiLeaks ahead of their public release.

Thirty-five people have pleaded guilty, been indicted or otherwise swept up in the Russian Federation inquiry, which has clouded Trump's two-year-old presidency.

Some of those false statements were made to the House intelligence committee, prosecutors allege.

According to special counsel, Stone had dozens of text messages pertinent to that inquiry when he made that statement.

"The President did nothing wrong", she told CNN. That problem arises elsewhere in the indictment, where Mueller makes clear that Stone's ties to Wikileaks were seen internally as a valuable part of his contribution to the campaign.

It says the Trump campaign directed a senior campaign official to contact Stone after the July 22, 2016, WikiLeaks release of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and other groups.

Stone officially worked on the Trump campaign until August 2015.

Corsi declined to comment and Credico did not immediately respond to request for comment. "A stoolie. You backstab your friends-run your mouth my lawyers are dying Rip you to shreds", Stone told the person in an April 9 email. A process against Richard Nixon was also initiated, but it was interrupted by Nixon's resignation.

He noted that Mueller made a point of portraying WikiLeaks as an organisation that has repeatedly been involved in posting stolen documents from United States citizens. "I will defeat them in court".

On Thursday, hours before his arrest, Stone posted on Instagram a photo of himself with Trump and the caption, "Proud of my President".

California Congressman Eric Swalwell, meanwhile, derided the Trump team as "a campaign of cheats".

But House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, a California Democrat, said in a statement that his committee "will be eager to learn just who directed a senior campaign official to contact Stone about additional damaging information held by Wikileaks" just "days before Donald Trump called on Russian Federation to "find the 30,000 emails that are missing" from Hillary Clinton's email server". Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort has also said he kept in communication with Stone during the campaign. The campaign said it fired him after he tried to grab too much of the spotlight while Stone insisted that he quit.
