Family booted from American Airlines flight following complaints about their body odour

Detroit family kicked off American Airlines because of their body odor

An American couple is making worldwide headlines for all the wrong reasons, after they were reportedly booted from an American Airlines flight after other passengers complained about their body odour.

Yossi Adler and his wife Jennie, who were also with their 19 month-old-daughter, denied having body odor and said they were picked out for being Jewish. "Because we got kicked off a plane for smelling".

"All of a sudden, as soon as they took us off, they closed the gate and then they said, 'Sorry, sir, some people complained you had body odor and we're not letting you back on, '" Adler recalled.

Yossi told WPLG-TV, however, that he and his family have no body odor of which to speak. "There's nothing wrong with us", he added. Needless to say, they were unable to change their clothes, since they were forced to leave the aircraft - and the airport - without their luggage in tow.

Adler said the airline had promised to take their luggage - including their vehicle seat and stroller - off the plane but it instead went to Detroit without them. "Our team members took care of the family by providing overnight accommodations and meals and rebooking them for the next available flight".

The Adlers were rebooked for a flight home to Detroit on Thursday.

"My wife is embarrassed in front of hundreds of people because someone says we have body odor", Yossi Adler said.

Meanwhile, her husband wants to know the real reason why they got kicked out.

"Our Miami airport team members were concerned about the comfort of our other passengers due to the odor", said Alexis Aran Coello, American Airlines corporate communications manager.

They were supposedly promised they could collect their luggage from the departing plane; however, according to WPLG, the flight departed with their possessions.

The airline's decision prompted an argument between the family and ground crew staff that was captured by Adler on video.

Crews de-ice an American Airlines plane at O'Hare International Airport Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, in Chicago.

"I shower every day", Adler said. "The smell was so bad I don't think I could have made it through the 2.5 hr flight", she said. He thought we don't take showers for that.
