Floyd Mayweather's New Year's Eve demolition of Tenshin Nasukawa

Nasukawa vows to 'take down' relaxed Mayweather

Once the fight finished, Mayweather stated that he is still retired and will not be coming back to box in an official capacity.

The fight was televised in Japan and available around the world as a pay-per-view on a combat sports app - except in North America, where Mayweather apparently did not want the fight seen. Mayweather landed several body and headshots that knocked Nasukawa down several times.

Floyd Mayweather made short work of Nasukawa in this exhibition bout.

Mayweather's comments pretty much killed talk of him being interested in fighting the victor of the January 19 bout between Manny Pacquiao, whom Mayweather outpointed in May 2015, and Adrien Broner. The Japanese crowd were well behind their fighter as the two boxers entered the ring but that was as good as things got for the home crowd.

More than anything, though, Pacquiao hopes beating Broner lures Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) out of retirement for a rematch later in 2019.

"What if I told you I was making $9,000,000 for 9 minutes of sparring in Tokyo Japan would you do the same if you were me?" "Thank you to the fans you guys have been awesome". Mayweather was jovial in the opening seconds of the exhibition, throwing very lazy punches and smiling across the ring. Mayweather knocked him down 3 times in 2 minutes and then Nasukawa's corner threw in the towel.

But I came out with courage. "I'm still undefeated. This was just entertainment for the people".

"Tenshin hold your head up high, I want the fans to support him, he's a great guy, a great fighter and great champion", he added. "He is a great fighter and a great champion".
