Climate change linked to natural disasters

Al Gore blasts Trump for 'burying' climate report by releasing it on Black Friday

Contrary to President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly expressed skepticism about the existence of climate change, the report says that "the evidence of human-caused climate change is overwhelming and continues to strengthen, that the impacts of climate change are intensifying across the country, and that climate-related threats to Americans' physical, social, and economic well-being are rising".

The government report, which is called the National Climate Assessment, addressed wildfires, reporting that one impact of climate change will be longer and more destructive wildfires, that could burn up to six times more forest annually by 2050 in parts of the US.

Those "tiny rays of hope" are Democrats who will be in the majority party in the House in January, including Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who backs the Green New Deal to put climate change as the top legislative priority. "This report underscores what we are already seeing firsthand: climate change is real, it's happening here, and it's happening now".

Donald Wuebbles, a co-author of the report, and a University of IL climate scientist, said, "We're going to continue to see severe weather events get stronger and more intense".

The measure, signed by almost 200 countries, sets rules for fighting climate change. Where the hell is GLOBAL WARMING???

Because there are VERY few coincidences in politics, the decision to speed up the release of the report to the day after Thanksgiving - rather than, say, today - was clearly a move by the administration to cover up what they see to be bad news. "We need to always consider the impact to American industry and jobs".

The 29-chapter report details the nature of these risks, which range from direct and indirect effects on human health to economic and agricultural concerns.

"What the US needs to do is participate in a long-term conversation about how you get to innovation, and it's going to need to be a conversation again that doesn't start with alarmism", Sasse said. "It's not enough to think it's 'important.' We must make it urgent".

One benefit the report may have, even despite a lack of media coverage, may be to weaken the administration's legal case to gut environmental standards, such as the freeze in federal fuel-economy rules, which is already being challenged in court. But Trump's critics said leaving the Paris agreement means the United States is allowing others to lead the global fight to curb climate change. Trump has repeatedly dismissed the unanimous conclusion of the country's intelligence community that Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 presidential election to help him and hurt Hillary Clinton.

"But if we're clean, but every other place on earth is dirty, that's not so good". It should be noted that this disastrous climate change report heralding the apocalypse comes on the heels of a report in Nature that showed the global tree canopy increased 865,000 square miles in the past 30-plus years.

Trump has stood by his years-old claim that climate change is a hoax and emphasized that belief with his statements about the California wildfires, which he said were a result of poor forest management, drawing criticism from firefighters, climate scientists and many others.

On Monday, Trump told reporters that he had read "some" of the report.
