Parliament asks United Nations to lead investigations into Khashoggi's killing

Mohammed bin Salman 'told White House' Khashoggi was a dangerous Islamist

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said it may take "a handful more weeks" before Washington has enough evidence to impose sanctions on individuals responsible for the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

After initially insisting Khashoggi left the consulate unharmed, then saying he died in a brawl during an interview gone wrong, the Saudi regime has admitted he was killed by a "rogue operation" and arrested 18 people.

The adviser, Yasin Aktay, said that's why the body of Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist and US resident, was cut into pieces.

Etyen Mahcupyan, a Turkish political analyst and former adviser to ex-AK party leader Ahmet Davutoglu said that Erdogan has taken an aggressive stance in his op-ed, but has made sure to keep good relations with Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Khashoggi's fiancee, Hatice Cengiz, published a heartfelt plea in the Washington Post.

Turkey's chief prosecutor said this week that Khashoggi was strangled as soon as he entered the consulate and also confirmed the body was dismembered.

The whereabouts of Khashoggi's remains are unknown, and the U.S., Turkey, and other nations have called for Saudi Arabia to fully cooperate in a transparent investigation into his death.

"As responsible members of the global community, we must reveal the identities of the puppet masters behind Khashoggi's killing and discover those in whom Saudi officials still trying to cover up..." According to the latest information, the reason why they broke up the body is to make it dissolve more easily.

Speaking at the memorial service in Washington, Daniel Balson from Amnesty International said the Saudi government needed to be held to account over the journalist's death.

Murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

She also slammed the United States, which shares economic interests with Saudi Arabia, on its inaction in condemning Saudi Arabia.

It's a month to the day since Jamal Khashoggi walked into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul - and was never seen again.

"I would like him to support Turkey's efforts in trying to bring light to this situation and to discover the whereabouts of his body", said Cengiz, who was waiting outside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on October 2 when the journalist went inside to obtain paperwork for their planned marriage, never to re-emerge.

"We therefore respectfully call on you to immediately authorise an independent, global investigation into the murder of Jamal Khashoggi that would lay the groundwork for identifying and holding accountable the perpetrators of this grievous crime". Among the suspects are 15 members of an alleged "hit squad" that Turkey claims was sent to Istanbul to kill Khashoggi.

"He doesn't want to disrupt everything and lose Saudi Arabia".

Scrutiny and suspicion have fallen on Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is known for taking direct measures against those who oppose him.

He said that despite a longstanding relationship between Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Istanbul would not "turn a blind eye to the premeditated murder that unfolded in front of our very eyes".
