'I've Been Toned Down' - Donald Trump Responds to Media Complaints About Rhetoric

Thirteen packages containing improvised explosive devices were sent to CNN, Hollywood star Robert De Niro and high-profile Democrats, including former president Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Senators Cory Booker and Kamala Harris and other figures loathed by the president's supporters. "There was something really off with him".

President Donald Trump says he had been briefed about the suspect that law enforcement earlier took into custody in relation to the recent spate of suspicious packages sent to prominent Democrats and others.

One of them with jumbled language said, in part, "We will find you very soon".

Sayoc's bankruptcy attorney, Christian Olson, declined to comment. "He just wanted to get his opinion out there".

Trump, after Sayoc was apprehended, declared that "we must never allow political violence take root in America" and Americans "must unify". The cops also found crack in the backseat of the squad auto after Sayoc was taken to jail.

The president acknowledged the suspect's political allegiance, but denied any responsibility that his incendiary rhetoric could have played a role in motivating the spree.

In 1995, Sayoc was accused of going to Nature Foods in Edina and Nature's Food Center in Bloomington, where he bought vitamins and supplements in volume, then returned them for refunds.

Sayoc left to pursue a professional wrestling career and later started his own company.

That work history, though, seems to have been inflated.

The Chippendales put out a statement denying that Sayoc ever worked for them.

Sayoc was being held at an Federal Bureau of Investigation processing centre in Miramar, Florida, CNN said. Sayoc told his lawyer his father was Native American.

Sayoc was previously known to law enforcement officials and has been arrested almost a dozen times in Florida, including a 2002 arrest for making a bomb threat. In 2002, Miami police arrested him for a bomb threat, a felony.

The report shows detectives were never able to confirm whether the theft actually happened, and no arrests were made.

On September 18th, Sayoc tweeted a picture of Biden's home and wrote, "Hug your loved son, Niece, wife family real close everytime U walk out your home".

"There was nothing significant that stands out about that case", the former bomb squad investigator explained.

Lowy, a Miami attorney, said he is representing Sayoc's mother, Madeline Giardiello, and sisters Sabrina and Tina.

"His mind doesn't seem to operate like most peoples'", Lowy said.

Lowy said he represented Sayoc on a number of matters over the years, which he called "unsophisticated, stupid stuff".

"He's been in the strip clubs since he was 22, that was his life", the cousin said. "This guy had an air about him that was unsettling", he said. He was taking steroids. And the president's favorite television show, Fox & Friends, ran a segment Friday morning in the hours before his tweet that raised the possibility that the bombs were a ploy to help Democrats.

Documents released Friday by the Broward County Sheriff's Office show Mr Sayoc reported in May 2015 that more than $40,000 in goods were stolen from his van and an attached trailer, including 11 pieces of Donald Trump-brand clothing valued at $7,150.

He seemed to be fixated on Trump's opponents.

Authorities arrested 56-year-old Cesar Sayoc, who has a criminal record dating back to decades that included a past arrest for making a bomb threat. Sayoc misspelled words on posts that matched some of those on the packages.

According to the complaint, the windows of Sayoc's van were covered with images including critical of CNN.

"It was puppets with their heads cut off, mannequins with their heads cut off, Ku Klux Klan, a black person being hung, anti-gay symbols, torchings, bombings, you name it, it was all over his truck", Gureghian said.

He was otherwise a "fabulous" worker, Gureghian said.
