Al Sharpton Helps "Correct" Donald Trump At Aretha Franklin Funeral

Aretha Franklin Funeral Details of Service Including Superstar Guest List Revealed

Rather than simply being a show piece, the two-door auto that transported Aretha's body was also the same vehicle used in the funeral of her late father Rev. C.L. Franklin.

She was voted the greatest singer of all time by Rolling Stone magazine and for African American women in particular was a role model and a benchmark for success, feminism and empowerment.

"For all the wonderful things Aretha did for me, all the great events she appeared at, my most endearing memory of her was nearly happenstance", Clinton said.

Recent tributes to Aretha Franklin are culminating Friday in the answer to one question: How do you lay a queen to rest?

Her grandchildren and an obituary reading by her niece Sabrina Owens are also planned for Friday. But Twitter really erupted once people got a good look at what she was wearing, and they had positive and negative things to say about her appearance. She worked her can off to get where she was.

Taking to the stage, the starlet hit the high notes easily as she performed in front of the funeral congregation. An arrangement from singer Sam Moore included a card that read, "You know I always adored and loved you to bits and pieces". I am proud to have met Aretha, and am grateful that her music will continue to bring joy to millions for generations to come.

Franklin is expected to make her final journey in the same ivory 1940 Cadillac LaSalle that transported the body of her father in 1984, and that of civil rights icon Rosa Parks in 2005. Maybe she meant she feels her pain.

Floral arrangements from such singers as Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett and from the family of Otis Redding, whose "Respect" Franklin transformed and made her signature song, were set up in a hallway outside the sanctuary.

"How you doing, baby?" she asked him. "So I figured out, I think, that the secret to her greatness was she took this massive talent and this flawless culture that raised her and chose to be the composer of her own life's song".

As he wrapped up his comments, Clinton pulled out a phone and started playing Franklin's 1968 hit, "Think", for the mourners gathered at Greater Grace Temple. She wore a shimmering gold dress, with sequined heels - the fourth outfit Franklin was clothed in during a week of events leading up to her funeral.
