Russia’s Putin says he invited Trump to Moscow

Fox News viewers are attacking Bret Baier – here’s how he’s responding

The White House said that President Trump was open to travelling to Moscow to meet Vladimir Putin, after the Russian leader said that he had extended an invitation.

Putin and Trump met in Helsinki last week at a summit, but Trump faced a storm of criticism back home for his handling of the meeting. President Trump came across as deferential, even submissive at times, which was I think very shocking to numerous people in the audience.

"He has a desire to have further meetings, I am ready for that". I am ready for that.

Putin made the comments Friday at a news conference at the summit of leaders of the of BRICs countries in Johannesburg, South Africa. "We are ready for such meetings".

A summit last week between the pair in Helsinki caused Trump serious domestic problems, with the USA president accused of appeasing a man who allegedly tried to tilt the 2016 United States presidential election. "Be my guest. He has such an invitation, I told him that".

The Russian strongman said he was "ready to go to Washington" but only if "the right conditions for work are created".

"I would like to say, CNN, I stand firmly by your right ... even though you don't stand by mine". The president has been widely criticized for failing to publicly denounce Russia's interference in the 2016 US election and appearing to accept Putin's denials of such activity. If the Trump folks were unclear on this, they should have consulted every other president before them.

The invite comes two days after the White House said it would postpone Mr Putin's autumn visit until next year. Among the issues Putin said he's eager to talk about are nuclear arms control, conflicts in the Middle East, and the Iran nuclear deal.

Both Mr Putin and Mr Trump deny the allegations. "Are we going to extend it or not?"

"As a rule, some leaders quickly forget what they had promised to the people once the elections are over", Putin said, according to Russia's state-run news agency TASS. Russian Federation and the United States have a stake in that, the whole word has a stake in that, in not starting an arms race. She said the Kremlin basically drove the entire process in Helsinki, and "we're seeing that again now".

"It's a subject for debate and negotiations. There are some things you can't do over the phone".
