100 ex-students report sex misconduct by former Ohio State University doctor

Over 100 former Ohio students allege sexual abuse by ex-team doctor

Ohio State launched the investigation in April after multiple former athletes came forward with their allegations against Strauss. "Every single coach has said the same thing I have", Rep. Jordan claimed. Hellickson also has denied knowing about any abuse by Strauss. "I believe him. Jim Jordan is one of the most outstanding people I've met since I've been in Washington".

Snyder-Hill said he contacted the investigators who are looking into Strauss after seeing news reports about former athletes and students who have raised allegations about Strauss in recent months, and the investigators confirmed having some paperwork about the incident that led to his complaint.

Mulvin, who wrestled for OSU from 1975 to 1979, said hecould not remember the name of the physician. Other patients of Strauss' private practice, which was started in 1996, also lodged complaints against him.

CNN's attempts to reach Geiger have not been successful.

The four wrestlers, whose names were not listed in the lawsuit, say Strauss sexually assaulted or harassed them in the late 1980s or 1990s.

The revelations come less than a week after five former wrestlers filed a pair of lawsuits claiming that repeated sexual abuse complaints had been snubbed by university officials. He was suing "individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated".

The Ohio State University remains actively committed to uncovering what may have happened and what university leaders at the time may have known.

When asked about "Does 1-100", plaintiff's attorney Joseph G. Sauder said more defendants might be named later.

"We are aware of reports that individuals at the university did not respond appropriately during that era", said Benjamin Johnson, a spokesman for the university. "These allegations are troubling and are a critical focus of the current investigation". Over 200 former students and university employees have been interviewed by independent investigators reviewing allegations against Richard Strauss involving male athletes from 14 sports as well as his work at the student health center and his off-campus medical office, University President Michael Drake said. Through his campaign committee, Jordan has retained a PR firm to help deal with the political fallout from the OSU scandal.

"One of the two lawsuits said "rampant sexual abuse" was reported to Ohio State administrators and to the head of the athletic department" who "turned a blind eye" to the wrongdoing.

Whether Jordan knew has become a matter of debate among former Ohio State wrestlers.
