Fortnite Season 5 Is Here With Tonnes of New Content

Fortnite season 5 map changes

The new theme is "when worlds colide", and here's a quick rundown of the coolest stuff for their V5.0 Patch notes.

Viking ships, desert outposts, and ancient statues have appeared across the island. There is a four-person All Terrian Kart. We can now forget about slugging up a hill with our shopping trolleys because this new buggie is fully motorised. What's more, the roof acts as a bounce pad although you'll probably have more fun driving them through rifts. Plus, why wouldn't you want to check out the new desert biome and collect that lighting bolt on your way to the new race track?! .

You can, as ever, check out the full patch notes on the Epic Games blog while you wait for the game to come back online.

Epic didn't stop at new content. We're not sure just how much this will change gameplay, but it will be interesting to see what effect it has.

What new skins are in Fortnite season 5? The new season of "Fortnite" also adds Rifts to the map that allows players to instantly teleport to a random location in battle royale.

Most notably, the map will be receiving an update, but won't be entirely changing as the rumours suggested. You'll also be able to see how numerous pellets from a shot hit the target, which will be displayed by marks within the reticle, allowing you to see at a glance how effective your shot was. The heavy shotgun now fires 10 pellets instead of 5, but the maximum damage of the weapon has been unchanged. While the list of changes is fairly extensive, one notable addition to the Switch version is gyroscope aiming.

In 50v50 or 20v20 modes, you'll now get bonus XP up to three times per match for reviving teammates. Players can play with the toys, basketballs, beach balls and golf balls, during the game.
