No comeback for Terrell Owens, just Madden cover

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens celebrates with popcorn after making a touchdown reception against the Green Bay Packers during an NFL game on Nov. 29 2007

Players who pre-order the standard edition will receive the full game on August 10 and their choice of one Elite Player from their favorite National Football League team, as well as five Gold Team Fantasy Packs.

As mentioned in DualShockers' previous article, pre-ordering the Madden NFL 19 Hall of Fame Edition will grant the owner access to the game early without the need of EA Access on August 7. It also lets you choose between Owens or four other National Football League legends (Brian Urlacher, Rod Woodson, Dan Marino, and Terrell Davis) to add to your team. Owens is wearing a Cowboys uniform on the cover of the game. He'll be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame with the rest of the Class of 2018 on August 4.

T.O., who played eight years with the San Francisco 49ers before coming to Dallas for three seasons, ranks second all-time in receiving yards (15,934) behind only Jerry Rice - but will likely be third on that list before the end of the 2018-19 season with current Arizona Cardinal Larry Fitzgerald just 389 yards behind him. He played for the Cowboys from 2006 through 2008 after two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Following his run with Dallas, he spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, and tried to catch on with the Seattle Seahawks late in his career.

Earlier this month, Owens had primed the pump of comeback talk by posting workout videos, including his work with Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowler Julio Jones.

Owens' 153 receiving touchdowns rank third in National Football League history.
