The president of the White House Correspondents Association said President Donald Trump's suggestion to revoke the credentials of reporters because of negative coverage would be "an unconscionable assault on the First Amendment".
"Why do we work so hard in working with the media when it is corrupt?", he continued. Trump wrote on Twitter. But Drudge, who has at times being critical of Trump, conveyed a more widespread worry about the long-term impact of giving the White House control over reporters' credentials.
In a tweet this morning, Trump casually opened a window into the source code for his method of identifying liberal media bias.
"The Media Research Center studied all broadcast evening news coverage of the President from January 1 through April 30, and found 90 percent of the evaluative comments about Trump were negative."Talev went on to state that it is the responsibility of a free press to report on everything that is happening, whether good or bad, from the important to the mundane.
During his presidential bid, Trump's campaign temporarily banned several news organizations from his rallies, including The Washington Post, citing dissatisfaction with the coverage.

Trump responded: "Oh yeah, I would do that".
"We're very committed to a free press and I think we demonstrate that every single day, not only by me being up here and taking your questions as I'm doing right now", she said.
President Trump sent out a tweet that has many in the media concerned as it relates to access to the White House. "He also suggested that he could punish the networks by "[taking] away credentials".
