Is This The Bravest Reaction To A Dislocated Ankle?

Tony Finau takes nasty spill celebrating a hole-in-one at Masters Par 3 Contest

Finau sprinted off down the course in celebration but came to a crashing halt when he slipped on his left ankle, spraining it in the process.

Tony Finau continued a remarkable Masters story, which looked in serious jeopardy as early as Thursday morning, by moving into the lead at Augusta towards the closing stages of Round 1.

The severity of the injury is unclear. After being cleared to play, Finau's agent told ESPN the plan was still to tee off at 12:43 p.m. ET with Bernhard Langer and Yuta Ikeda on Thursday.

Describing Wednesday as a "crazy day", Finau tweeted his thanks that night to well-wishers for their concern.

It would mark Finau's debut performance at Augusta, but Finau has the tools needed to compete at the Masters.

Since 1960, the competition has teed-off with a friendly tradition: a Par-3 event, which invites players and their families to revel in the pure fun of the sport.

Of Tongan and American Samoan descent, Finau is the first person of such ancestry to play on the PGA Tour. "Obviously how exciting he was, but someone with a bit of color playing this game".

Most golfers would make the trade in a heartbeat. It's the only tournament I watch on TV, and I watch it all four days.

Only previous year, Woods had trouble just sitting through the dinner at the Masters Club of past champions because of pain from his lower back shooting down his legs.

U.S. golfer Tony Finau was competing in the annual Par-3 contest ahead of Thursday's Masters.
