Montville Recreation Sponsors EGG-cellent Egg Hunt

Easter eggs could cause asthma attacks

"As the Easter holiday approaches, L.A. Animal Services reminds the community that real rabbits, chicks and ducklings don't always make the best gifts", according to the agency.

Following the hunt, the Easter bunny made a special appearance, greeted those present and took pictures. Everyone left with candy, and some kids carried off fishing poles and toys after the event.

The Eagles Aerie #16 and Auxiliary #16 have been helping organize a major Easter egg hunt in Helena for 89 years.

The local Elks chapter had its own hunt down at Mingus Park in Coos Bay. Well, that depended on the age group.

Tanguay and Ross said their favorite part of the event was the food, rather than the egg hunting.

If you plan on buying a bunny as an Easter pet this year, the SPCA is asking you to think twice. She fell into a mud puddle, but wouldn't let that stop her.

Lila Grace Hunter, 7, Swoyersville, was also quick to explain her egg, with several letters of the alphabet on it.

"This is an opportunity for them to reconnect with their friends", Presley said.

Payton and Mackenzie Parnell, two 5-year-old twins, got quite the haul of Easter eggs.

Not freezing temperatures, nor gusty winds and a muddy field could keep area kids under 10 and their families from coming to Jaycee Park for Saturday's annual Easter Egg Hunt.

The egg hunt is put on each year by the Park and Recreation Department.

12,300 = total number of eggs hidden.

New Haven employee Greg Kaylor, left, Recorder Roberta Hysell, center, and Councilman Matt Shell are pictured behind the prize table for the older kids at New Haven's egg hunt Saturday.

"I liked giving kids that were crying one of my prize eggs and I shared some of my eggs with people that missed out", Chartier said.

"We try to fulfill any special need that they may have".

In just a few minutes, more than 41,000 Easter eggs were picked away, with nothing left behind but green grass, filled baskets and smiling faces.
