Stormy Daniels sues Trump lawyer Michael Cohen for defamation

Rich Lowry Stormy Daniels steps right out of a Bill Clinton scandal

In the interview, the adult film actress provided little new evidence of her alleged 2006 affair with Mr Trump, but said she faced intimidation tactics aimed at ensuring her silence in 2011.

Daniels appeared on CBS' 60 Minutes, and walked Anderson Cooper through her side of her experience with Trump, beginning with an encounter at a golf tournament in 2006 in which Daniels playfully swatted Trump on the behind with a magazine he had been holding that had his face on the cover.

The encounter seemed to open up the president, Daniels said. "He was like, 'Wow, you - you are special". "Like, oh, you know, 'Stormy Daniels comes out #MeToo.' This is not a 'me too.' I was not a victim".

He said: 'The president doesn't believe any of the claims Ms. Daniels made in the interview last night were accurate.

Other details Daniels revealed included the fact that the POTUS compared her to his daughter Ivanka, he offered to get her on the Apprentice, and he downplayed his marriage to Melania.

Her media-savvy attorney, Michael Avenatti, tweeted after the show: "Any claim that "There was nothing new other than the details of the threat" is not only false but is also similar to asking 'Other than the short interruption Mrs. Lincoln, what did you think of the play?'"

"And I was like, 'Ugh, here we go, '" she said.

Trump has repeatedly denied that he ever had an affair with Daniels.

Then, just before her scheduled interview with Jimmy Kimmel, her former manager Gina Rodriguez sent out a similar statement denying the affair, also signed by Daniels.

Avenatti says he is still working to verify the man's identity.

Asked if Daniels' club stops would include talk of politics or the president, her manager, Gina Rodriguez, told the Dallas Morning News, "If Stormy was going to do interviews they would NEVER take place in a strip club". "And I just felt like maybe - it was sort of - I had it coming for making a bad decision for going to someone's room alone and I just heard the voice in my head, 'Well, you put yourself in a bad situation and bad things happen, so you deserve this'". "And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, 'That's a attractive little girl". She then told him to turn around and drop his trousers - which he did - and she gave him a couple of swats. The person making the offer, she said, was Cohen. Daniels filed a civil suit in California earlier this month claiming the agreement is invalid on the grounds that Trump never signed it.

The sexual encounter allegedly happened a decade before Trump was elected president.

Daniels also freely admitted to taking advantage of financial opportunities since the Wall Street Journal broke the story in January about the $130,000 payment she received to stay quiet days before Election Day 2016.

"What [Trump] did as a private citizen is not relevant to the campaign finance laws", Noble told NPR's Lulu Garcia Navarro.

Shah confirmed that Cohen and Trump had dinner together on Saturday night.

Daniels is one of two women suing to speak freely about past relationships with Trump.

Trump would have been married to his wife, Melania, during both alleged relationships.

White House principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah said on Monday that the White House was denying all the claims adult-film actor Stormy Daniels made in her "60 Minutes" interview that aired Sunday.
