Antonio Conte is searching for a new full-back to provide another option and competition for current first-choice Marcos Alonso.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are now preparing for their Premier League trip to Swansea City on Monday night as they look to keep up their bid for a top-four finish.

Instead, the club have turned to Roma's Palmieri, who is said to be available for £20m this month.

And talks are well underway to secure a "dream" move for the Brazil-born left back, according to the player's agent.

The Premier League champions want to sign Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri from Roma and have put forward a bid of €50m for the pair, plus offering Batshuayi on loan.

His agent Fernando Garcia said: "Of course yes, absolutely, the two clubs are now talking, we'll see if it will be successful".

"Obviously, Emerson would love to play in the Premier League and it would be a dream to work with Conte, as he is among the best coaches in the world".

Garcia did however add "nothing is certain" with the clubs still deep in discussion and will wait for further developments before travelling to Italy himself.

Dzeko turns 32 in March, so it isn't entirely out of the question that Roma would sell for the right price, especially as they already invested in replacement Patrik Schick.

The highly regarded 23-year old is valued at around £20million, and his representative confirmed in an interview with Calciomercato that both Chelsea and Roma were in talks over a potential deal.
