Snow begins early morning on Monday, followed by risky cold Tuesday

Storm Team 4 Future Track

Increasing clouds tonight ahead of the next cold front, with a light wintry mix developing in northern Kansas and spreading south overnight. Now, only an additional dusting to upwards of inch is expected by the time the snow comes to an end early Monday morning. Poor visibility and slick roads will be the big hazards. Light snow and flurries will end by midday as bitter cold Arctic air moves into the region.

Despite lots of sunshine on Friday, temperatures were mainly in the teens with a colder wind chill.

Wind chills will drop as low as -35 for our Sunday night and will stay well into the double digits below zero through Monday. Afternoon temperatures will probably remain below freezing for much of the area. This go around there looks to be more moisture and temperatures will only be in the 40s the day before as opposed to hitting 70. Our next chance of precipitation comes Saturday night into Sunday morning (next weekend). Our day starts off bright and sunny with clouds increasing late this afternoon. Northerly 10-15 miles per hour breezes and gusts up to 20 miles per hour are expected to make it feel about 10-15 degrees colder than that.

Monday: Morning light snow, then mostly cloudy and cold. North wind 10 to 15 miles per hour. Wind chill values as low as -1.
