Mark Wahlberg allegedly refused casting of Christopher Plummer in 'All The Money'

All The Money In The World

Detailing how the negotiations for the reshoot went down, the sources revealed that Williams was the first to be approached by a producer, not Scott. She also wanted to ensure the well-being of her colleagues.

The disparity between the pay the two actors took away meant that Williams paid less than one-tenth of 1 percent of Wahlberg. "As it relates to this matter, you should talk to their representatives". However, the reports suggested that the reshoots cost over $10 million to the makers.

This whole pay gap controversy followed another controversy.

The second reason Williams walked away with what amounted to almost $80 a day for reshoots is that, because Wahlberg's contract didn't necessitate reshoots, he was able to renegotiate his pay for them.

Christopher Plummer was roped in to replace Spacey and the veteran actor reshot the scenes barely six weeks before the film's scheduled release.

Again as is typical, the main woman involved - Williams - realized what she needed to do to help salvage the project.

Because of the circumstances, Williams quickly agreed to return.

Williams had already worked on the film for less than her standard fee. Her male counterpart, Mark Wahlberg, received the same per diem - plus $1.5 million. Williams, a multiple Oscar nominee, told the publication that she did indeed agree to that. Naturally, nobody on the internet waited for the facts, and I was pretty much the only person in the universe defending Wahlberg. (Williams plays the boy's mother, and Wahlberg portrays a Getty fixer and former Central Intelligence Agency operative.) Plummer had initially been in the running to play the elder Getty and quickly stepped in when approached by Scott.

But there are questions about the extent to which Wahlberg was on board with this all-hands-on-deck spirit of collaboration.

Sources familiar with the contracts tell TMZ, Michelle's contract required her to do reshoots as part of her overall salary, whereas Mark's deal did not include reshoots. If Williams was paid at least scale for the reshoots, there's nothing SAG-AFTRA can do about it, and anything Wahlberg may have negotiated above scale is OK with the union.

Williams, reportedly, was not told. Wahlberg's stipulated that he was not required to do reshoots, while Williams was, according to The Wrap. Reshoots are complicated in production, based on matters like contract days and talent's willingness to participate.

Wahlberg was named the highest-paid actor of 2017 by Forbes in August, with his pre-tax and pre-fee earnings coming in at $68 million.

The new USA Today story also contradicts previous reporting on a situation where the truth is muddy.

The ceremony was fashioned into a showcase for Time's Up, a new initiative started to gender inequality and sexual harassment in Hollywood and other industries.

The director Judd Apatow wrote, "This is so messed up that it is nearly hard to believe".
