Manhunt Ends With Arrests For Murder Torture Of 4-Year-Old Girl Found Burned

Sumpter Township police have released photos of a man and woman they say are wanted in the death of their 4-year-old daughter.

Diaz and Fields are facing murder, torture and child abuse charges.

Officers arrived at a mobile home park in Belleville on New Year's Day finding the four-year-old girl unresponsive.

According to the police, the deceased, Gabby Barrett, had severe burns and succumbed to her injuries.

The girl was rushed to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The medical examiner's office told WDIV that the girl did not die from the burns but said she was murdered - beaten to death.

The couple are believed to be driving a black 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier with the MI license plate DTR1854.

Police say an arrest warrant has been approved for Diaz and Fields on the charges of felony murder, second degree murder, first degree child abuse and torture.

If you see Diaz and Fields, you should not confront them but call police.
