The South Carolina women's basketball team has declined an invitation to visit the White House following its 2017 national championship, according to The Post and Courier.

OU's national champions in men's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, and softball all visited the White House and got to meet the president and pose for pictures.

At the end of September, Staley publicly expressed her discontent at the Gamecocks - who won the title back in March - not yet getting an invitation to the White House.

"We did hear from the White House about attending (Friday's) event, but we will not be able to attend", she said in a statement, per Fox News. "It's what national champions do".

In the Red Room of the White House, the NRA-backed Trump greeted the West Virginia's co-ed rifle team by saying, "We saved the Second Amendment!" "I don't know what else has to happen". He began a series of stops on the South Lawn, then went to the State Floor and Rose Garden on the White House grounds.

SC has a game on Sunday, with a practice scheduled for Friday. "I'm here concentrating on my team and getting better".

Absent from the ceremonies were the South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team and the North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team. He withdrew his invitation to the NBA's Golden State Warriors after their star player said he didn't want to go and criticized NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem, calling them "sons of bitches". Trump allegedly rescinded the invite after Stephen Curry hesitated with an answer.
