Las Vegas Shooter's Laptop Missing Its Hard Drive

Stephen and Bruce's father Benjamin was a notorious bank robber who was on the FBI's Most Wanted List for nearly a decade

The hard drive was missing from the computer recovered from Paddock's room in the Mandalay Bay hotel where he unleashed the deadliest mass shooting in US history, according to ABC News.

Paddock left virtually no digital trail, police say, baffling investigators as they struggle to discern the motive for the shooting.

Court records show Bruce Paddock has a criminal record stretching back to the 1980s, with convictions for vandalism, criminal threats, theft and driving with a suspended vehicle and other arrests for which he was not convicted.

The report also claims that Paddock bought software to clear hard drives of their files.

"Paddock had been squatting inside the business and after his eviction, the evidence was discovered".

It was not immediately clear Wednesday if he has retained an attorney.

Information from friends and family has proven hard to come by as Paddock was somewhat of a loner.

Bruce Paddock, the brother of Las Vegas shooter Stephan Paddock, has been arrested for child porn, according to TMZ.

Several days after the attack, authorities found several guns, a "plethora of ammunition", and many electronic devices at Paddock's home in Reno, Nevada, USA Today reports.

Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza smashed the hard drive of his computer with a hammer and a screwdriver before going on a rampage at an elementary school in 2012.

Virginia Tech shooter Cho Seung Hui removed the hard drive from his computer and threw away his cellphone before killing 32 people in 2007.
