Tillerson Reassures Corker: "I'm Fully Intact"

President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson listen to statements before a luncheon with U.S. Korean and Japanese leaders at the Palace Hotel during the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in New York City on Sept. 21

"You can not publicly castrate your own secretary of state", Corker, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told The Washington Post.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson shrugged off claims from a senior GOP Senator Sunday that President Donald Trump is trying to "publicly castrate" him and undercutting his diplomatic initiatives.

The secretary of state also denied that he had, in the words of interviewer Jake Tapper of CNN, been "gelded".

"You can not publicly castrate your own secretary of state without giving yourself that binary choice", Corker said Friday.

Trump - who swore on the campaign trail that he had "no problem" with the size of his private parts - has appeared to insistently emasculate Tillerson, a former ExxonMobil CEO, during their first year working in government.

Corker added that Tillerson is "in an incredibly frustrating place" where he "ends up not being supported in the way that I hope a secretary of state would be supported".

Trump "has made it clear to me to continue my diplomatic efforts", Tillerson said. "He uses unconventional communication tools, he uses unconventional techniques to motivate change".

Tillerson is also reported to have called Trump a "moron" and even had to call a press conference to quash rumours he was about to resign. Several top officials, including Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis and chief of staff John Kelly are helping "separate our country from chaos", Corker said earlier this month. "But that's because he does not accept the status quo with the many threats that we are confronting in the world today".

Tillerson went on to call Trump "the most unique president we've certainly ever seen in modern history", and said he is "fully committed" to the Trump administration.
