OJ Simpson heads for prison gates

Steak and seafood are on the post-prison menu for OJ Simpson

Simpson is officially a free man.

He will face restrictions - including up to five years of parole supervision.

State Department of Corrections public inmate records provided no information about Simpson's custody status or location, which prisons spokeswoman Brooke Keast said usually indicates that an inmate is being moved in custody.

"It was incident free, nobody followed, it was exactly what we'd hoped we could do for public safety", Keast told reporters.

Bondi said, "there is no justification under these circumstances for asking the taxpayers of Florida to foot the bill for hosting Mr. Simpson's parole". Simpson was later found liable in a civil case for the slayings in 1997 and ordered to pay the victims' families $33.5 million.

Keast said she did not know Simpson's destination after his release or who picked him up.

Sentenced in 2008, Simpson served nine years of a 35-year sentence for his part in a botched armed robbery at a Las Vegas hotel in September 2007.

It's important to note that Florida officials say Simpson hasn't filed a transfer request with the Sunshine State.

OJ Simpson's lawyer Malcolm LaVergne left says his client will focus on life's

Malcolm LaVergne, his attorney, said he wouldn't confirm his client's location as of Saturday.

But if major networks aren't willing to pay for the interview, Simpson's acquaintance said never-before-seen photos and footage of OJ "could be a major deal" for popular United States shows like Good Morning America and Today.

The 70-year-old was released in the middle of the night to avoid media attention. "And he responded, 'I don't intend to.' He was upbeat, personable and seemed happy to get on with his life".

She spoke from Lovelock, where she said she witnessed Simpson signing documents to be released.

She wrote a letter to the Florida Department of Corrections objecting to Simpson's relocation.

Justin and Sydney Simpson most recently lived in St. Petersburg.

Simpson won parole in July.

"The spectre of his residing in comfort in Florida should not be an option", Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement on Friday. Simpson has personally expressed an interest in going back to Florida, and Scotto said he expects his friend will move back there and buy a home, if his parole allows it.
