Woman Jets Off For International Vacation, Leaves Four Unsupervised Children At Home

Iowa mom left 4 young kids home alone and went to Europe on vacation police say

Police said Macke attempted yet neglected to influence tyke to watch over her kids - two matured 12, one 7 and the other 6 - before leaving September 20 for an excursion in Germany. Police say that Macke had left the country the day before and was en route to Germany.

She had reportedly left no provisions for the care of her children while she was away.

Macke was also charged with making a firearm available to a person under 21, according to the statement.

The ex-husband of a woman who police said abandoned her children as she jetted off to Europe for a vacation said her departure was "an intentional premeditated act".

"When the officer arrived, the 12 year-old did have food on the table and was preparing to feed the younger two children", Aswegan says.

Macke was taken into custody on Thursday, exactly a week after police conducted the welfare check at her home.

During her short time there, Macke posted several pictures of her and a friend, who had a baby with her, while the two toured Germany during Oktoberfest.
