'Dotard' or 'old lunatic'? North Korea chooses its words carefully

Meanhwhile, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his United States counterpart Trump have exchanged strong words for each other.

Trump responded on Twitter Friday morning, saying Kim Jong Un is "obviously a madman".

"We can't be satisfied that the United Nations has approved new sanctions against North Korea", Abe said.

President Donald Trump says the USA will impose additional sanctions on North Korea over the communist country's nuclear weapons buildup.

Mr Trump on Thursday signed a new order boosting sanctions against North Korea, where the USA treasury would target firms and financial institutions doing business with Pyongyang.

The comments are the North's first response to Trump's debut speech at the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday, during which he vowed to "totally destroy North Korea" if provoked.

"Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime", Trump said, using an epithet he has recently adopted to refer to Kim Jong Un.

"I will make the man holding the prerogative of the supreme command in the USA pay dearly for his speech calling for totally destroying [North Korea]", Kim said.

"I'd like to advise Trump to exercise prudence in selecting words and to be considerate of whom he speaks to when making a speech in front of the world", Kim said.

North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un makes a statement regarding US President Donald Trump's speech at the UN general assembly.

He also saluted China's central bank for what he said was a move to stop its banks from trading with North Korea.

In recent months, the North has launched a pair of still-developmental ICBMs it said were capable of striking the continental United States and a pair of intermediate-range missiles that soared over Japanese territory. While many were baffled by the word, upon knowing what it means said it was "perfect", others lauded Kim for knowing better English that Trump!

But the North Korean leader said remarks by the "deranged" USA president convinced him he is right to develop weapons for North Korea. We should accept North Korea has nuclear capabilities and treat North Korea as we do Pakistan.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that "military hysteria" over the nuclear testing would lead to "disaster", while China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Pyongyang not to go in a "dangerous direction".

"If he was thinking he could scare us with the sound of a dog barking, that's really a dog dream", Ri, who is in NY for the United Nations General Assembly, told reporters in front of his hotel in NY.
