Mobile Now Offers Subscribers A Free Netflix Subscription

The Defenders

AT&T and Verizon reintroduced unlimited data plans early in 2017 to combat market-share gains by T-Mobile and Sprint.

Are there any caveats? .

If you just got T-Mobile's new Unlimited 55+ two lines $60 a month, an older T-Mobile One account on which you're still paying fees and taxes separately, or the T-Mobile two lines for $100 promotion, you're not eligible for free Netflix.

T-Mobile is gearing up to roll out a new perk for its unlimited T-Mobile ONE plan next week.

T-Mobile is only guaranteeing one Netflix account per family plan, and there's certain to be plenty of overlap between existing T-Mobile One and Netflix members.

How to I sign up? .

T-Mobile USA is notoriously good at making their data plans seem like god's gift to smartphone owners. If customers have or want the premium Netflix subscription, they pay an additional $2 dollars on their wireless bill. Adding another line makes it $140 a month, adding another line after that (4 total) costs $160 a month. No specific terms of the agreement between T-Mobile and Netflix were released during the event or in the accompanying press release.

T-Mobile USA CEO John Legere took a shot at AT&T Inc. Subscribers with two lines pay $60 per line, while those with three pay $47 per line.

T-Mobile is running an all-day contest on Twitter tomorrow with prizes to promote the new offering. On the standard One plan, you'll get 480p video on cellular, and HD video on Wi-Fi and other internet connections. The streaming-video provider has also forged accords with Comcast, the largest cable operator in the US, and Liberty Global, Europe's largest cable company, to let users log in through their cable boxes. So if you plan on watching Netflix on-the-go, prepare for sub-par image quality.

Still, T-Mobile also claims - on the basis of OpenSignal's latest State of Mobile Networks: USA -that it now has the fastest and most wide-spread 4G coverage.
