One-time Ballon d'Or victor claims Coutinho isn't the solution to Barcelona's mess

Dembele suspended by Dortmund

Barca general manager Pep Segura suggested this week that deals for Dembele and Philippe Coutinho were close, although those claims were dismissed by Dortmund and Liverpool.

Dortmund have suspended Dembele indefinitely after he failed to turn up for training, and are desperate to keep hold of him.

Watzke, whose BVB side have rejected multiple Dembele bids already, went on to banter that it was the 3-1 and 2-0 defeats to Madrid that had left Barca confused. That's the end of the story of Coutinho moving to Barcelona.

According to Carrusel Deportivo, former Barcelona midfielder Luis Suárez, 82, has boldly claimed signing Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele won't mask the fact that the Catalans are in a very bad shape at the moment.

"Ousmane is a young kid but he needs to realise that no one player is bigger than the team". We're not budging on what we've asked for, not a penny.

"If they match our requirements soon then there will be a transfer. You never know in football of course but if Barcelona are true to their word they will withdraw the offer tonight because Liverpool have got no intention of selling", he said.

"We have a clear position, if it is fulfilled, [he] will be transferred this summer", Zorc said ahead of Dortmund's first Bundesliga fixture of the campaign on Saturday. That is a new quality...and we should also talk about the role of glorious FC Barcelona in this matter.

And the 20-year-old was absent from training without permission on Thursday, with Dortmund head coach Peter Bosz telling a news conference the club had been unable to contact Dembele.
