Kyrie Irving reportedly seeking deal, with Miami Heat possible landing spot

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving gestures after the Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors 137-116 in Game 4 of basketball's NBA Finals in Cleveland early Saturday

In exchange for Rose, guard Justin Holiday (who the Bulls just resigned in free agency) and a 2017 second round pick, the Bulls acquired center Robin Lopez and guards Jerian Grant and Jose Calderon.

Rose is also meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes and Ramona Shelburne.

Cleveland also could attempt to sign Rose for the veteran minimum of $2.1 million, which would allow it to maintain its mid-level exception, but either way there are other teams that can offer him more. His -2.9 nERD in 2016-17 ranked only 190th among the 245 qualifying guards in the National Basketball Association.

Rose didn't choose to play for the Knicks, and was traded to NY in exchange for big man Robin Lopez and guard Jerian Grant last summer.

Anyone at the Bulls' September 2015 Media Day can recall the moment clearly.

Derrick Rose's market value has been stuck in a downward spiral since his knee injury in 2012.

After signing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to a one-year deal, the Lakers still have roster space to sign at least two free agents to complete their team. However, they haven't signed anyone yet, and options are starting to dwindle. He is considered one of the NBA's premier perimeter scorers.

And there's certainly risk with Rose. He is arguably the franchise's best player since the Michael Jordan era and has an important place in the history of the team. One thing Rose brings to the Cavaliers or any team that takes him is the ability to create.

While he is no longer the tantalizing guard who used to put on shows against the then LeBron James led Miami Heat, Rose is still a top point guard in the league.

Even though Rose averaged 18.0 points per game last season, the Lakers would likely be best to avoid him. Sure, his injuries have played a part in that, but his singular, isolation style doesn't mesh well in an offence that hopes to achieve ball movement.

Chicago Bulls fans had mixed reactions when the team traded point guard Derrick Rose last offseason, but how would they react to a return from the former NBA MVP?
