- Officers responded to a vehicle fire in Dunwoody Monday night after some fireworks weren't disposed properly.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue said the roof and attic area was the source of the fire.

Visible damage could be seen on the side of the house.

Residents in Brevard and Orange counties said two unrelated house fires Tuesday evening were ignited by Fourth of July fireworks. According to police, flames ignited after fireworks were thrown into a trash can, and then the fire spread to the vehicle as well as a basketball goal.

The Clark County Fire Department, meanwhile, responded to two other house fires and a vehicle fire Tuesday night and early today.

The Maryland state fire marshal is investigating the fire, which occurred around 10:50 p.m. on July 4. It was contained to the balcony, they said, and didn't spread to the apartment itself.

The homeowner did not receive a citation for using illegal fireworks, but fire investigators confiscated about $300 worth of mortars.

They want people to know there is a right way and a wrong way to dispose of fireworks.

Less than two acres of grass burned, and was quickly extinguished by firefighters from Hershey Volunteer Fire Department, who were stationed close by.

They used one hose line to extinguish the fire.

Everyone made it out of the home safely and no injuries were reported. Officials found fireworks debris on that balcony and in the street.
