Pacquiao's title on the line vs Horn in 'Battle of Brisbane'

Untitled-2 copy

Locals have grumbled that Pacquiao only attended an official pre-fight lunch for a few minutes on Friday, and Horn's camp accused Pacquiao earlier in the week of holding up the official news conference and then constantly texting on his cell phone through the event.

For the first time since 2005, a Pacquiao fight hasn't been restricted to pay-per-view in America. Following that infamous loss to Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao has gone 2-0, with wins over Timothy Bradley Jr. and Jessie Vargas.

Jeff "The Hornet" Horn, 29, enters this big money fight with an undefeated record despite having never fight outside Oceania but has won against Ali Funeka and Randall Bailey whom most feels were aging contenders.

"That won't help", he said of a bigger Horn coming in on fight time.

Pacquiao's experience inside the ring, all of 67 fights with 59 wins, six defeats and two draws, should spell the difference in the fight against Horn, with 16 wins and a draw.

Pacquiao has more than a decade of experience in this environment, and said he likes to take on a boxer who has hometown advantage because he enjoys the extra buzz. I just felt the hunger.

This is Pacquiao's 68th career fight, almost 4 times as many as Horn, who will engage in only his 18th bout in the pro ranks. "But we're not talking about that yet", said Pacquiao.

But if Horn, who at 5-foot-9 stands more than 2 inches taller than Pacquiao, comes in big and heavy on Sunday, the task of flooring Horn may be easier said than done. "But I want to make sure that I. use it properly and maximize it".

The former Australian school teacher weigh in at 66.3 kilograms while WBO welterweight champion Pacquiao successfully weighed in at 66.1kg at Saturday in front of media in Brisbane.

The veteran trainer was on stage and watched as the young, unbeaten Australian held his breath while on top of the scale, before boxing announcer par excellence Michael Buffer announced that Horn tipped in at exactly 147.

During the week, he has talked about being disrespected amid talk of another Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, and said he had the weapons to knock out Pacquiao.

Roach, Pacquiao's long-time trainer, believes the fight won't go the distance.

"Game face is on".
