Seven to be inducted to Hockey Hall of Fame

"It's an wonderful feeling, it's hard to describe that".

Like Recchi, Anderychuk wasn't a flashy player that won a bunch of individual awards like Selanne and Kariya did.

The 10th overall pick in an 1988 draft topped by Mike Modano, Selanne started carving that path nearly from the minute he stepped onto the ice for the Winnipeg Jets in 1992 - just under five minutes to be precise, when he registered an assist in his very first game on a goal from Keith Tkachuk. They all are respected names, but it's time the committee makes its voting public.

Andreychuk had 1338 points in 1639 games and has the most power-play goals (274) in league history. Kariya helped lead his native Canada to gold at the 2002 Olympic Games and a silver medal in 1994, while also securing gold medals at the 1993 World Championships and the 1993 World Junior Championships.

Recchi won three Stanley Cup titles with three different teams (Pittsburgh Penguins, Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins), becoming only the 10th player in National Hockey League history to accomplish the feat. But he was every bit the Finn's equal when he was on the ice, totalling 402 goals and 989 points in 989 games. That being said, he never won the Stanley Cup, never finished in the top-five in goals or assists and only appeared once in terms of points, which was 2005-06 when he finished fourth with 103 points.

Kariya posted 989 points in 989 games during a 15-year career.

Former general manager Lou Lamoriello, a 2009 Hall of Fame inductee, brought Andreychuk over to New Jersey a year after winning the franchise's first Stanley Cup in 1995. He logged 1,533 points over 22 seasons split between the Penguins, Flyers, Canadiens, Hurricanes, Thrashers, Lightning and Bruins and is one of just a few players to win three Stanley Cup championships with three different teams.

In the builders category, junior hockey coach Clare Drake and team owner Jeremy Jacobs were elected. Jacobs is the owner of the Boston Bruins. Kariya played his first nine years for the Mighty Ducks before a year stint with the Colorado Avalanche and two years with the Nashville Predators before ending his career with three seasons in St. Louis with the Blues. He won the Lester Patrick Award for service to hockey in the United States in 2015. "To be honoured in the same way as former Flames' governor Harley Hotchkiss is truly humbling". "As a Canadian university hockey coach this honor is truly special".
