London Attacks Third suspect reportedly Italian-Moroccan

London Bridge attacker known to security services as two terrorists named

Youssef Zaghba, the third man identified as one of the authors of Saturday's deadly attack in London, was intercepted previous year en route to Syria and signalled to Britain as a possible militant, Italian authorities said Tuesday.

The gym is just a street away from Wingate Road, where late on Wednesday armed police raided a house and arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with the London Bridge terror investigation.

In Britain's third Islamist attack in as many months, three men on Saturday rammed a van into pedestrians on London Bridge before running into the Borough Market area, where they slit throats and stabbed people indiscriminately.

Security agencies on Tuesday searched the hotel in Mujahidabad area in Karachi owned by an uncle of Khuram Shazad Butt, 27, who was among the three terrorists shot dead by police after their Saturday night terror.

The third attacker was identified as Youssef Zaghba, a 22-year-old Italian national of Moroccan descent who was reportedly working in a London restaurant.

Zaghba, Pakistan-born British citizen Butt and Rachid Redouane, 30, who claimed to be Moroccan-Libyan, launched a rampage around London Bridge and Borough Market on Saturday night. Police said earlier that witness accounts suggested he might have been thrown into the River Thames, which London Bridge crosses. His phone contained Islamic State propaganda.

Ruscigno said "the only member of the family who lived here was the mother, who had not been seen for a while".

"He was under heavy police surveillance and everything could have led him to prison", said Ms Collina, who was "happy" that her son seemed to be "under police control". But he is said to have been not radicalised in Pakistan.

"Although he didn't say anything in particular, I could feel it in his voice", she said.

Neighbors described Butt as an avid weightlifter and Transport for London confirmed he worked for London Underground in customer service before leaving last October.

Zaghba apparently told his mother he was headed for Rome.

All three attackers are then seen on the ground as further police surround their bodies.

In the van and knife attack carried out by Khurram and two of his accomplices on June 3, at least seven people were killed and 48 sustained injuries.

In fact, Butt was one of the main characters in a television documentary called The Jihadis Next Door.

One Pakistani official told The Telegraph that British officials had said that they suspected Butt had been radicalised in the United Kingdom rather than in Pakistan, but that they were carrying out searches of family members' houses in both Mujahidabad and Jhelum as a precaution. British police and MI5 began investigating Butt intensively in 2015 as part of a major drive to dismantle and destabilize al-Muhajiroun, the sources told CNN.

Although they lived separately, he in Morocco, she in London, Redouane applied for an Irish visa in 2014 under rules covering marriage to an European Union citizen, according to the report.

Twelve people were arrested after the attack but have all now been released without charge, the Met Police said on its Twitter account Monday.

British security officials said none of the men was considered violent, but they acknowledged the difficulty of predicting whether extremists will turn risky.
