Cavs not looking to slow down pace of Finals with Warriors

According to ESPN's research, the first two games of the series were played at a faster pace - possessions per minutes - than any of James' previous 212 playoff games.

"To me it's a miracle that it's even a possibility".

The Cavaliers converted just 19 of their 60 looks from three-point range in back-to-back lopsided losses, and to fight their way back into the best-of-seven series despite being in an 0-2 hole for the second straight season, they know what has to be done.

This year, the Warriors boast superstar forward Kevin Durant, hungry to win his first National Basketball Association title, and stars like Stephen Curry, out to avenge last year's finals loss to the Cavaliers.

Lopsided home triumphs over the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers gave Golden State a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series and a 14-0 post-season record, the longest win streak in National Basketball Association playoff history.

But that Warriors team, which posted a record 73 wins in the 2015-16 season, were not as risky as the current squad due to the addition of four-times scoring champion Kevin Durant to an already formidable lineup.

"They made some tough shots, but that's what they do", Lue said.

With Durant, the Warriors reached the NBA Finals a flawless 12-0 in the postseason after sweeping each of the previous three rounds and then found another gear against the Cavaliers.

With a loaded lineup and enough hot hands to fill an octopus, the Warriors don't need to rely on any one player to take a lot of shots. In Game One, the Warriors scored 35 points and in Game Two, they rang up 40.

Durant said he can feel the impact Golden State's third-quarter runs have had in sapping the will from their rivals. "And we're not going to change just because we're playing Golden State".

"We have to take care of home court", Cavaliers forward Kevin Love said.

"Teams have great nights in this league, and it's the National Basketball Association, so that can happen a lot", Durant said.

"We have a huge hurdle to get over tomorrow", Curry said.

The Warriors committed 20 turnovers in Game 2 but simply shook that off with an NBA Finals-record 18 3-pointers in a 132-113 romp.

Golden State Warriors win series: 92.64%.

"We can learn that how thin the line is from success and failure", Curry said.

Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue confirmed that he would not be changing his starting line-up in Game Three despite suggestions he would start Iman Shumpert over J.R. Smith, who scored just three points in two games. We can't take bad shots. "But we've got to do a better job of just staying locked into these guys, being physical, staying on their bodies, and then, we can do a better job with the three-point shot".
