Star shuttler Saina Nehwal on Friday Stormed into Semi-finals Of Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold 2017 after defeating Japan's Haruko Suzuki in Bangkok.

The Thai tried to stage a fightback in the second game but Praneeth was equal to the task, quickly reducing a three- point deficit.

The world number 11 Saina, who made the women's singles semi-final, was seeded second in the tournament, while her opponent entered the tournament as fourth seed. As the match started, the Indian looked in a comfortable position winning it 21-15 and it looked like Saina will clinch it in straight games.
