Shootout at Texas vehicle dealership leaves 3 dead

Shooting leaves 3 men dead at Greenville Nissan dealership

Terrifying moments for people inside a auto dealership near Dallas, Texas on Tuesday.

According to our sister station in Minneapolis, Stew Peters, a bail investigator with a private Minnesota-based company U.S. Fugitive Recovery and Extradition, said the two bounty hunters had tracked 49-year-old Ramon (Raymond) Michael Hutchinson to a Nissan dealership in Greenville.

Peters says Hutchinson had been sought since March for failure to appear in court in Hennepin County.

That's when Hutchinson tried to draw a pistol, but dropped it on a desk, eventually picking it up and firing after a struggle with the bounty hunters, who returned fire, according to the City of Greenville. They said Garcia is the owner of F. N. G. Security and Investigations of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Bernal worked for him.

The person filming the footage joins others in ducking for cover as all three men fire their weapons, with about 20 rounds heard in the space of just six seconds. Reports from the Hunt County Scanner state Hutchinson shot and killed himself after killing the two men acting as Federal Agents inside the auto dealership.

A woman at the dealership called 911 while hiding in the bathroom. Garcia, Bernal, and Hutchinson all suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting is still under investigation at this time.

The two investigators may have presented themselves as federal agents.

. When the dust cleared, the three men were dead.

"Mr. Garcia felt the defendant would ultimately appear at that dealership", Peters told the AP.

Phariss says a bounty hunter's job is nothing like television depictions, in which kicking in doors and chasing people down is part of the daily routine.

"We didn't give them permission, but we also didn't tell them that they had to leave", dealership owner Rick Ford told CNN affiliate KTVT.

Matthews said that typically law enforcement might use four tactical officers to make this type of arrest, and he said a auto dealership was not an appropriate location.

The dealership will be closed Wednesday at least, perhaps even longer.

For his part, the owner of USFRE, Stew Peters, said the blame for the incident rests exclusively on Hutchinson and that the agents were following the letter of Texas law when executing their assignment.
