Man holding human head stabs worker at Oregon grocery store

Man Stabs Shopper In Grocery Store While Carrying Severed Head

A man accused of killing his mother and stabbing an Estacada grocery store employee on Mother's Day was booked into jail Monday afternoon, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office confirmed. Before walking into the store Sunday, he is charged with murdering his mother, 59-year-old Tina Marie Webb, at their home in Colton. Deputies and officers from other police agencies responded and found the woman dead at the scene.

The suspect, 36-year-old Joshua Lee Webb, was booked Monday on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say the two incidents are connected as investigators believe the man is probably also responsible for the woman's death.

Police say a man suspected of stabbing an OR grocery employee while carrying what appeared to be a human head was in a "catatonic state" after he was subdued by other workers at the store. The man then stabbed a store employee.

Customers who'd been in the grocery store during the stabbing took refuge in the diner Sunday, but nobody had seen much, said Flora. The grocery store stabbing victim was alert and talking when he was transported to the hospital, deputies told the station.

The suspect was taken to a different hospital after being brought into custody. They believe he walked to the grocery store after leaving the home.

"He was in like a catatonic state, wasn't speaking to anybody", Roberts said, adding that the only thing he said during the encounter before his arrest was that he was thirsty. That victim's condition has not been released.

At 2:35 p.m., a 911 caller reported finding the body of a woman inside a home on Elwood Road in Colton, about 10 miles from the store, kgw.com reported.

Police did not say whether the body was headless.
