State police issue Amber Alert for child of missing Hampton woman

Keir and Chloe Johnson

The Virginia State Police and Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse have issued an Amber Alert for a child abduction. Sult would only say police work including reviewing technology such as social media and interviews led them to make the determination.

Sult declined to release any information about possible suspects or persons of interest in the case, citing the need to preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation, but noted that police were treating it very seriously. Thursday night they issued an Amber Alert.

Police said they believe the child was abducted in the area. She is believed to be in extreme danger.

Keir Johnson's Facebook profile was last updated publicly on March 19 with a photo of herself with baby Chloe, and does not contain any public information hinting at how or why she and her daughter disappeared.

Chloe is a black, female infant with brown eyes and black hair. Hampton police say the two were last seen Sunday, April 30 in the 1900 block of Hastings Drive.

The man and child may be traveling in a black 2013 Kia Optima with Virginia tags VAW-2197.

Police in Virginia fear someone has kidnapped a mother and daughter who went missing almost two weeks ago. She was wearing blue jeans, a T-shirt and glasses, according to family members.
