Baba Ramdev calls for '100 heads' for each Indian soldier's death

Addressing an annual press conference of Patanjali Group Baba Ramdev advised the Indian forces to follow the footsteps of Israel and cut 100 Pakistani heads for each of the martyred and mutilated Indian soldier.

"We have done research on e-commerce model and there are some practical problems for FMCG products, we have solved some problem and planning is underway, in coming time if these problems get solved we will go in for e-commerce model as well", said the Patanjali CEO, who debuted on Forbes magazine's "100 Richest Indians" list a year ago.

Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, which Ramdev set up in 2006, has seen phenomenal growth in last few years, surpassing the Rs 10,000 crore sales mark for the last fiscal year ending on March 31, 2017.

"Patanjali has broken the stranglehold of multinational companies", Ramdev said. "We would grow more than double this year. We plan to give tough competition to global fast food chains too".

Asking people not to connect Modi with Patanjali, he added: "Modi is not a brand ambassador for Patanjali, he in India's brand ambassador".

The company to achieve its target is in the process of setting up mega production units at several places, including Noida, Nagpur, and Indore, which would take its production capacity to Rs 60,000 crore from the existing Rs 35,000 crore. The company recently announced that it plans to double its turnover in the current fiscal and become the country's biggest Swadeshi brand, reported a national business daily.

The company's turnover was 105 billion rupees in 2016-17, Baba Ramdev said Thursday.

"Our Noida facility would have a production capacity of Rs 20,000 crore, Nagpur 15,000 crore to Rs 20,000 crore and Indore Rs 5,000 crore", he added. Honey is around Rs350 crore and would grow to Rs500-600 crore this year, " Ramdev said.

Company's MD and CEO, Acharya Balkrishna, also said that the Patanjali, in future will also enter textiles industry (jeans and sportswear) to compete with the brands like Nike, Levis and Adidas.

The Ayurveda major clocked in Rs Rs 10,216 crore in FMCG and ayurveda sales during 2016-17, leaving behind Nestlé India (Rs 9,159 crore) and Godrej Consumer (Rs 9,134 crore), reports Business Standard.
