Ivanka Trump wishes Melania Trump a happy 47th birthday

Catherine Zeta Jones and Jennifer Lopez

There is just no excuse for the closed-minded behavior surrounding one video of Melania Trump not plastering a smile on her face. Melania's face was dissected at the inauguration because she looked so unhappy.

The outlet starts at the very beginning of the romance (for lack of a better word), revealing how the former model was secured a visa by a modeling agent/Trump friend, and how she later met the controversial businessman at a NYC party where he secretly asked for her number while his real date was using the restroom. She will give remarks at the luncheon, per the White House, which will not be open to press.

Trump, who is living in NY through the duration of the school year, is spending her day at a luncheon for Senate spouses.

In the end, the first lady remains something of a mystery.

According to the sources, the tension comes from Ivanka's "intense personal will to power", which has resulted in her cozying up to her dad and assuming numerous responsibilities of the first lady, including having her own White House office and regularly meeting with powerful world leaders.

Part of her wifely duties, Peretz wrote, is to be sweet, supportive and above-all, boastful about her man, according to "The Truth About Trump" author Michael D'Antonio. Previous first ladies have said the unpaid job of White House hostess is a tough road to navigate, one nobody can truly be prepared for.

Melania Trump made a rare midweek trip to Washington on Wednesday to celebrate her 47th birthday.

"I'm modeling what was done for me by the Bushes", Michelle Obama explained.

Her Argentinian counterpart wore an eye-catching red dress with matching heels, which easily blended into the stylish scene. Many critics have been posting articles about how the egg roll would be the biggest test of her abilities, and she passed the test with flying colors. Maybe those bashing the First Lady could learn a lesson from her; she is a person and does not deserve the treatment she is receiving.

Whether Melania is happy is ultimately something that really only she (and the people she decides to tell) will ever know, but implying that she doesn't know exactly what role she plays in the larger cultural and political conversations or that she is an unwilling participant is naive.

The hypocritical and downright ridiculous criticism she receives is meaningless, and hopefully the parties responsible will start to worry about their own decisions instead of hers.
